A new look for Mnase dispensary

By TanzaniaNo Comments

Another upgrade happening now!!!!! Check out the video. It is amazing how music connected us to this Tanzanian village over 20 years ago. Last year, due to storms and 16 years wear and tear, Mnase medical dispensary got a new roof and windows. This year the inside roof panels where the leaks had damaged ceilings have been repaired and everything has been painted, and soon they will have new seating, curtains and a flat screen TV in the waiting room for patients’ education on health, news and entertainment.

The first set of pictures are before the work was completed – showing the years of wear and tear. Door handles broken, seats worn out, leaks from storms damaging ceilings and paintwork crumbling. The second set – the work being carried out and the third set after the repair work. Very exciting to see it all looking as new.

New Windows

By TanzaniaNo Comments

After a month of flooding and storms in Tanzania 6 dispensary windows were broken. This meant that some of the medical services were not able to be provided. This is the third time that we have had to repair windows – so we decided to use this mishap to bring an upgrade to the building and the old windows were completely replaced with strong aluminium frames. Hopefully these will stand up to the strong winds that they get at certain times of the year.

Since 2003 Rebekah and I (under our charity ‘Voices from the Nations’) have been partnering with the Gogo tribe in central Tanzania. Recording their music has enabled the village to fund water projects and build a medical dispensary. During this process our dear friend and translator, Pastor Seth Gidiony (from the Ha tribe) has been our contact, constant help on the ground and guide through cultural differences. His wife Anastina (who is a medical support nurse) has had a number of health issues over the years and has recently found out she has a tumour in the stomach, and needs an immediate operation. She is also experiencing severe mental and emotional distress. Read More

Tanzania relief – second truck arrives.

By TanzaniaNo Comments

A wonderful Easter present as more maize arrives for the village of Mnase. Due to the continued famine the prices for a sack of maize was still very high but Seth managed to negotiate for 124 sacks. He says “When the big truck of maize slowly entered the village, I could hear shouting all over the place. Martin, it was a very big surprise for all the villagers.”  So thankful to all those who helped make this happen.
