Tanzania

My dear Again Yesterday Sunday 22nd January 2017 I was in the Village for Service and taking time with the Villagers as we are their servants in both Physically and Spiritually, All the Time we took with them it was really so important to encourage and pray with different families in the Village due to the famine and severe droughts. Also we learned a lot from them and about the whole situation. The famine actually is becoming very hot and already affecting many poor families in the Community. The crops prices are fast going very high one tin of maize with 18 kilograms is now sold for 25,000 Tshs, that makes one sack of maize to be sold for between 140,000 and 150,000 Tshs regarding how many kgrms it contain. We never had this price price before it is the higher price never crops reached the most sad thing is very fast shooting up,no rain raining and the Government Taking no any step nor precautions at all. And the reality is Dodoma is among the mostly affected Regions in the Country. The Government people are just silent say nothing instead they are not honest to the community they are politically orienter as I hope you briefly Understanding our politicians. It is only We Spiritual Leaders Trying to open our mouths praying and Console the people and if possible calling for the help.

Tanzania Drought 2017

By TanzaniaNo Comments

We are looking at sending money to buy maize before the prices soar – and we need your help – if 1000 people gave £25 each we would be able reach our target and send maize not only to Mnase but all the surrounding villages. We so appreciate your help – Asante sana.

By TanzaniaNo Comments

A wonderful Easter present as more maize arrives for the village of Mnase. Due to the continued famine the prices for a sack of maize was still very high but Seth managed to negotiate for 124 sacks. He says “When the big truck of maize slowly entered the village, I could hear shouting all over the place. Martin, it was a very big surprise for all the villagers.”  So thankful to all those who helped make this happen.

Tanzania Relief 2016

By TanzaniaNo Comments

Dear friends – the Gogo people of Mnase village in central Tanzania are again bracing themselves for food shortages due to another severe drought, which damaged food crops, resulting in a much reduced harvest. We have learned that there is already hunger in the villages and the cost of a bag of maize has already doubled in price, and it is expected that the situation will get worse. The next harvest season will be March – if the rains are sufficient. Voices from the Nations have been partnering with the Wagogo people of central Tanzania for the last 12 years. (Check out the “Sing to the Well” CD and DVD). We are looking at sending money to buy maize before the prices soar – and we need your help – if 500 people gave £10 each we would be able to send roughly 150 sacks of maize to Mnase village. We so appreciate your help – Asante sana.

Solar panels for Tanzania

By TanzaniaNo Comments

Exciting news – Mnase village medical dispensary now has Solar panels. This will make a huge difference to care being given at night. Up to now they have used lamps that caused black smoke to fill the building, causing problems for patients, nurses and doctors.

New windows for Mnase dispensary

By TanzaniaNo Comments

A couple of months ago there was a large storm at Mnase village which caused damage to the medical dispensary. Broken windows and frames meant that the doctor has had to work under difficult conditions due to dust and leaves etc. New windows and frames have now been made.
