The British Library Sound Archives (formerly the National Sound Archives) contacted us after finding our web site saying “(we) see you are putting out some really great & interesting music”.

They have asked to hold our music saying – “we will catalogue and archive the music as part of the nation’s audio & cultural heritage …..with world class facilities at hand we can provide the safest possible home for your releases, both for preservation and access, for many generations to come.”

They will catalogue and archive the music as part of the nation’s audio & cultural heritage and it will be available (on a restricted access server) to anyone holding a British Library readers pass (writers, researchers, etc.) if you come in person either here or our other site in Boston Spa, Yorkshire. They are a cultural archive rather than a commercial one. They do not allow any material to go out on loan or be downloaded and they comply with current copyright legislation regarding sound recordings. No copies can be made of recordings in our collection other than for our own conservation purposes without the written permission of the appropriate copyright holders. When accessioned the releases will be part of the Sound & Moving Image collection.. http://sami.bl.uk and a catalogue record created.
